Service Learning

Service learning is 20 hours of experience we have teaching outside of a school. For my service learning I taught a studio lighting photography course. In this course we went over studio safety, how to properly use the equipment and how set it up. We went over different lighting styles and then determined which one they wanted to use to light their photos. We then went over how to take photos with a DSLR and how to adjust manual camera settings. After going over the camera they started taking photos of each other and even began directing their models. After taking photos they learned a little about Adobe Lightroom and selecting photos. They then selected their photos, and we went over editing and a few different editing programs.

In this class I have a range of students 13-17 who have no studio lighting experience and almost all of them had never used a DLSR camera.
